However, as an animal welfare professionals we are compelled to raise concerns about the well-being of these furry participants. While animal-assisted activities can be beneficial for both humans and animals, it is essential to prioritize animal welfare and ensure that their experiences are positive and stress-free. By understanding the science behind animal sentience and implementing ethical practices, we can improve yoga and meditation sessions with pets and foster a better connection between humans and their animal companions.

Recent investigations in the United Kingdom have uncovered distressing practices in some puppy yoga sessions. Young puppies, as young as six weeks old, were deprived of sleep and water while being exposed to prolonged hot room sessions.
